Mimikai is a team charades game. To create and play a game, the app connects to our server, which sets up your session, serves clues, and keeps score. We collect only what is needed for the game to work: you do not need to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number.
This policy describes what data is processed, what we do not collect, and how third-party services are involved. It is written to align with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines and the Google Play Developer Program Policies.
When you create and play a game, the app sends the following game configuration and session data to our server:
This data is used solely to build your game, show appropriate clues, keep score, and let you resume a game in progress. All communication with our server is encrypted over HTTPS.
Team names are free text that you type. We recommend not using real names or other personal information as a team name, since they are stored together with the game.
Mimikai does not harvest, request, or collect the following:
Mimikai does not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials.
If the app offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, all billing, renewals, and cancellations are handled entirely and exclusively by Apple's App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play. We do not receive or have access to your payment information.
Subscription and purchase management is done through your device's operating system account settings (Apple ID or Google account).
When our database does not have enough clues for your configuration, we generate new ones using a large language model provider (OpenAI and/or Google Gemini). Those requests contain only game parameters — category, age range, country, and language — and never personal data or your team names.
Generated clues are stored in our database and reused in future games to improve the catalog. These clues contain no personal information. See the privacy policies of OpenAI and Google for more details on how they handle data.
Game data is stored in our database to run and restore your session. Generated clues are retained as part of the shared game catalog. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Mimikai relies on the following external services:
Mimikai does not integrate third-party advertising or behavioral tracking SDKs.
Mimikai is a family-friendly charades game that can be played in groups, including with children. It is not directed exclusively at children under 13, but clue content is filtered by each team's selected age range to keep prompts appropriate.
We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children under 13. The app does not require accounts, logins, or contact details to play. We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking directed at children.
Because team names are free text, a child could enter personal information (for example, their real name) when setting up a game. We recommend that a parent or guardian configure the game and avoid using real names or other personal information as team names.
In compliance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the youth data-protection provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), if you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has entered personal information in a game session, please contact us at thebteamcol@gmail.com. We will help remove the relevant session data where possible.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, data requests, or feedback, please contact us at thebteamcol@gmail.com.
